Spring Season
Whether you're returning to the ice or joining us for the first time, we're excited to kick off a competitive and fun season of high school spring hockey. Get ready for team spirit, skill-building, and great memories on and off the ice!
Ages
Open to all current students of Elk Grove, Prospect, or Rolling Meadows High Schools, as well as 8th‑grade students who will be attending any of these schools in the fall of 2026.
When
The spring season begins with tryouts mid-March, and runs through May.
Where
Practices and home games are held at the Nicholas Sportsplex. Away games may be played at rinks throughout the Chicagoland area.
Practices
Team practices average 2 times per week. Practice schedules will be communicated once rosters are finalized.
Cost
The cost will vary depending on how you make your payment.
If you would like to pay through the Crossbar website, an added fee will be included to cover the website fees for this transaction.
Direct payments to the PREP Hockey Club, will not include fees.
Direct payments will be accepted via Cash, Check, or Zelle (preptreasurer@gmail.com).
All direct payments must be paid prior to the first practice.
Jerseys
Spring jerseys will be provided.

Q: How are teams formed?
A: Teams are formed based on skill evaluation at tryouts, coach assessments, and roster needs.
Q: Can I play another sport or activity during the spring season?
A: Many of our players participate in other activities! We encourage multi-sport athletes but ask for honest communication about conflicts so we can support you and your team.
Q: What gear is required?
A: Full hockey gear is required, including helmet with cage, mouthguard, neck guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, pants, shin guards, skates, and stick.
